Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

• "Northstar Atelier" / "We" / "Us": The educational studio operating at Lebuh Acheh 22, 10300 George Town, Penang, Malaysia.
• "Programme": Any educational session or series offered by Northstar Atelier, including the single-day workshop, term-long programme, and annual curriculum.
• "Parent/Guardian": The adult who enrols and is responsible for the child attending a programme.
• "Child" / "Participant": The minor aged 6–10 enrolled in a programme.
• "Agreement": These Terms and Conditions, accepted upon submission of an enrolment or payment.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By enquiring about, enrolling in, or paying for any Northstar Atelier programme, the parent or guardian confirms they have read and agree to these Terms. The parent or guardian must be at least 18 years of age and have legal authority to enrol the child named in the booking.

3. Programme Description

Northstar Atelier provides educational sessions for children aged 6–10 focused on age-appropriate money vocabulary through story-led activities, drawing, and small group discussion. All content is purely educational. No programme contains investment advice, financial product recommendations, or aspirational framing of any kind.

Programme details — including session dates, timing, group size, and materials — are communicated to enrolled families before each term begins.

4. Enrolment and Eligibility

• All programmes are open to children aged 6–10. If a child is outside this range, please contact us before enquiring.
• Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment or agreed first instalment.
• Group sizes are capped at 8 participants per session. Enrolment closes when a group is full.
• We reserve the right to decline an enrolment if a programme is not considered suitable for a particular child, and will offer a refund in such cases.

5. Fees and Payment

• All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM).
• Single-day workshop: RM 380, payable in full at booking.
• Term-long programme: RM 1,720, payable in full before the term begins, or in two equal instalments (first instalment at booking, second at mid-term).
• Annual curriculum: RM 4,580, payable in four equal term instalments. A payment schedule is agreed at enrolment.
• Accepted payment methods: online bank transfer and selected e-wallet platforms. Details provided upon enquiry.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

• Workshop: Full refund if cancellation is received more than 7 days before the session date. No refund for cancellations within 7 days, but a credit toward a future session may be offered at our discretion.
• Term-long programme: Full refund if cancellation is received before the first session. 50% refund if cancellation occurs after the first session but before the halfway point of the term. No refund after the halfway point.
• Annual curriculum: Refunds are calculated on a term-by-term basis following the same principles as the term-long programme for each paid term.
• If Northstar Atelier cancels a session due to unforeseen circumstances, a make-up session will be arranged or a pro-rata credit issued.

7. Attendance and Conduct

• Parents are responsible for ensuring their child arrives on time and is collected promptly at the end of each session.
• Children who are unwell should not attend. No make-up sessions are provided for individual absences.
• We expect all participants to be treated with kindness by other children. We reserve the right to ask a child to withdraw from a programme if their conduct consistently disrupts the session, and will issue a pro-rata refund in such cases.

8. Intellectual Property

All curriculum materials, workbooks, handouts, and the annual reader produced by Northstar Atelier are our intellectual property. They are provided for the personal educational use of enrolled families and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without our written permission.

9. Photographs and Privacy

We do not photograph or record children during sessions without the explicit written consent of a parent or guardian. If consent is given, images are used solely for internal review and quality improvement purposes and are never published publicly without additional consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

Northstar Atelier's programmes are educational in nature and do not constitute financial, investment, or professional advice of any kind. We do not accept liability for decisions made by families based on content discussed in our sessions. Our total liability for any claim arising from a programme is limited to the fee paid for that specific programme.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts. We encourage parties to attempt informal resolution before initiating any formal proceedings.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on our website. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled families by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued enrolment following such notice constitutes acceptance.
