Why Northstar Atelier
What Makes Our Approach Different
Story-First Learning
Money concepts are introduced through picture books and characters children already trust. There is no pressure and no adult financial jargon — just age-appropriate stories.
Small Groups, Focused Attention
Every session is designed for small groups so each child receives individual attention. Facilitators can follow the pace of the room rather than pushing through a fixed agenda.
Designed for Families
Parents receive summaries and conversation prompts so the learning extends beyond the classroom. The programme strengthens family dialogue around money in a relaxed, supportive way.
Hands-On Activities
Drawing, sorting, and quiet craft activities give children a tangible way to explore ideas. Materials are designed to be kept and revisited at home.
Non-Pressure Environment
Sessions are designed to be calm and exploratory. There is no assessment, no scoring, and no competitive element. Children engage at a pace that feels right for them.
Local, Familiar Setting
Located in the heart of George Town, Penang, Northstar Atelier is a welcoming space that feels like a studio rather than a classroom — warm, quiet, and built for children.

Questions & Answers
Things Parents Often Ask
What age range are the programmes for?
All three programmes are designed for children aged 6 to 10. Activities and materials are adjusted within that range to match the child's reading level and attention span. If you are unsure whether your child is a good fit, please contact us — we are happy to have a brief conversation.
Do parents need to stay during the sessions?
For the single-day workshop, parents are welcome to stay nearby and will be invited in for the debrief at the end. For term-long and annual programmes, parents drop off and collect their children, and receive written summaries after each session to stay informed.
How many children are in each group?
We keep groups small — typically between 4 and 8 children per session. This allows the facilitator to follow each child's pace and ensures the environment stays calm and manageable for younger learners.
Is this a course that teaches children how to invest or make money?
No. Our programmes are purely educational and age-appropriate. The focus is on introducing money vocabulary and fostering a healthy, curious relationship with everyday money concepts. There is no investment content, no aspirational framing, and no pressure-based messaging.
When do the next sessions start?
We run programmes in alignment with the Malaysian school term calendar. The next intake typically opens a few weeks before the start of a new term. Send us an enquiry and we will let you know about upcoming availability.
What language are the sessions conducted in?
Sessions are conducted in English. Materials are in English as well. If you have a question about language accessibility for your child, please do reach out — we are always open to a conversation.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept online bank transfer and select e-wallet payments. A confirmation of enrolment is sent once payment is received. For the annual curriculum, we can discuss a payment schedule — please mention this in your enquiry.
